So pleased to add a large flacon to my growing collection of Kamila Aubre scents. Villanelle 02 is, to my nose, a crisp, dark, and elegant floral with a tart fruity note. It sits close to my skin and upon my coat and scarf, and as I walk to work on these cold dark mornings it mixes beautifully with my surroundings, never overpowering but enhancing. As always, the delivery was exquisite, carefully wrapped in black tissue, and it layers beautifully with my other Kamila Aubre scents. Thank you. - Emilia

Villanelle Autumn Lore is a diaphanous green, somewhat tannic cologne, built around the same theme as its forerunner Allegorical Woods: a soft mossy blanket and lush greenery, but more subdued, translucent, elusive and melancholic. - Naama

I'd been eyeing this one for a while and finally decided to blindly purchase it, based on the fragrance notes in the description. Wow was I in for a treat! My go-to's are woodsy, earthy, grassy scents and that's exactly what this is. The scent evokes a feeling that (for me) is like that thin line between summer and fall, golden hour and blue hour. And walks in the forest when it feels as if every branch, twig, and patch of grass has come alive. Also, the scent lasts a while, so a little goes a long way. New fan, new favorite. First of all, the packaging of this product is impeccable. It’s a decorative piece in itself. The Villanelle scent is magical - I love it. It’s a bit more woody/leather-y in my opinion and very different from what I usually wear, but I absolutely love it. The Villanelle smells delightful! Perhaps I'm atypical of a woman of a certain age, but shortly after becoming a fan of 'Killing Eve', I read that there was an ACTUAL scent called 'Villanelle'. The first time I ordered it, I seriously could not believe that it wasn't based on the intriguing BBC heroine, because it seemed to have all the notes that Villanelle herself might enjoy, and adorn herself with. It was ... almost indescribable. It was a cunning mix of floral and verdant notes, quite earthy too ... but the best thing about it was the depth. It almost plunges into your skin, and reveals different notes as it develops, the longer you wear it. It never pales, and always smells incredible. Just like Villanelle! I ordered a selection of samples last year because I was intrigued by the profile of Villanelle, but wanted to give a range of fragrances a chance (like I always do with a new fragrance house). I fell in love with Villanelle, of course, and have wanted to get a bottle ever since. Straight out of the bottle, the verdant aromatics are almost medicinal, not unlike unstoppering a tincture. On my skin, the bergamot, vetiver, and frankincense warm and sweeten in such a unique way. It sounds weird, but it's kind of like one of the original Ricolas, earthy but sweet. Even though the sample is small, I have savoured it and wear it sparingly, even though I want to reach for it in my regular rotation. - Elizabeth

My favourite fragrance is Villanelle, it is a wonderful earthy scent but it is rich with power and feminine energy. More specifically, most of these scents are associated with relieving anxiety and stress, or clearing the mind to focus, which is what I am associating with power in clarity. The violet, lavender and blackcurrant softens the earthy smell of vetiver, marjoram, and sage, to create a more feminine scent. whilst the frankincense is associated with this royalty and power, yet also used in pregnancy to clear the mind; this unifies the fragrance making it smell complete and  harmonious.

My love story with Villanelle began in a rather prosaic way: first I fell in love with the character in the show. And then searched for it when Villanelle gave a bottle of perfume to Eve. That year I ordered Villanelle for my birthday.

It was more than what I expected. It's a story in the scent. It was a different perfume experience for me, because I never knew a scent can have so many layers. It changes similarly to how a story would develope in a book.

I love the subtlety of it, too. It's all mine, no heavy trails. Sometimes I applied it before going to bed as well, just to feel that air of sophistication around me again. I kind of blind ordered from Kamila, but going with my experience of perfumes and smells I already knew I love or would love to try. The descriptions did not disappoint! Every ingredient is so well composed and elegantly formulated, it is a smell so distinct, one can easily stand out and it’s also slightly addictive to be honest. Even layering with other nature-perfumes I own makes sense and adds the special. The small flask goes in my handbag and so usually I start the day with a softer perfume and then layer this one on during the day. I ADORE this scent. I can not put my love for this scent into words. SIDENOTE (that may be of interest to the immunocompromised and hypersensitive future customers): A couple of years ago, I developed significant immunological issues due to a medical procedure. As a result, the scents that I had previously used began to trigger my immune system in such a way, that I could no longer use any of the products containing the scents (soaps, skin creams etc.) without developing serious (hypersensitivity and/allergy-) symptoms. This perfume not only smells AMAZING, but triggers no symptoms (for me) at all. Furthermore, the scent is SO CALMING and I sleep like a baby after having applied some at night time. 2nd Edition is perfect for winter, hope it will last for a while, I hope to get a 2nd bottle. Love the warmth and the colour, we are so used to clear fragrances but natural aromas are seen so well in the colour of a fragrance. Be careful, though, with white clothes and such perfumes may stain them. I have the two editions and hope to get my hands on the new 3rd one, I see a beautiful connection in the seasonality of Villanelle, it stays true to its nature, green, but changes based on a season.
